While The Walking Dead gave birth to a bunch of iconic characters there have been none that have even surpassed the legendary Daryl Dixon. This roughneck has the skills to track anyone and survive against all odds. However, when he is thrust into an unknown situation thousands of miles from home will he be able to survive or will he finally become one of the dead? This is the premise behind AMC’s new hit series called The Walking Dead Daryl Dixon.
While season 2 has just premiered on AMC+ season one has been released on Blu-ray and this two disc set contains all the episodes from the first season. For those who do not know about this show it takes place after the events of the regular Walking Dead show as Daryl Dixon is a prisoner on a boat that is researching a new type of walker. However, we all know that Mr. Dixon never stays down for long and manages to start a revolt and find his way off the ship. He eventually finds himself on the shores of France as he gets involved in a conflict between the Pouvoir des Vivants (Power of the Living) and Union de L’Espoir (Union of Hope). He is also introduced to Laurent, who some believe is the next messiah to bring back humanity from the brink of extinction.
While this set doesn’t have a lot of features it definitely makes up for it in collecting the first season. There are subtitles for the episodes, cast diaries and a featurette called Show me more: The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon. This featurette has around a fortyminute runtime and goes into the show’s creation with the cast and crew giving their insights on how this show was brought to life.
