VALKYRAE AND GLOBALCOMIX UNVEIL FIRST LOOK AT GAMING LUMINARY’S MANGA DEBUT, APOLLYON
Announced at NYCC, APOLLYON is an All-New Action-Fantasy Series Co-Written with Manga and Webtoon Creator Brandon Chen, Set to Debut Exclusively on GlobalComix in Early 2025
October 19, 2024 – Valkyrae, one of the top gaming streamers in the world, and GlobalComix, the digital entertainment trailblazer reshaping the landscape of graphic fiction creation, distribution, and consumption on a global scale, took the stage at New York Comic Con today to share a sneak peek at Valkyrae’s debut manga series, APOLLYON. Co-created with manga and Webtoon creator Brandon Chen, APOLLYON will launch exclusively on GlobalComix in early 2025.
In APOLLYON, the world is divided between the radiant city of Takamagahara, a utopia suspended in the clouds, and Chasm City, a grim underbelly encircling a vast abyss, magic is both a blessing and a curse. Neru, the son of Takamagahara’s most powerful wizard, struggles under the weight of his father’s legacy. Despite his immense magical potential, he’s never been able to cast a single spell. Thus, he was banished to Chasm City, an urban pit carved into the center of the world where the magicless live amongst demons. Neru believes his life is doomed to mediocrity… that is until he crosses paths with a magical entity that was believed to be extinct, a fallen Angel, that unlocks Neru’s ability to cast spells.

The news follows the recent launch of Valkyrae’s anime-inspired media company, Hihi Studios. At launch, Hihi announced a co-publishing deal with GlobalComix to fund, creatively develop, and distribute both physically and digitally the studio’s first IP. APOLLYON is the first project being produced through the partnership.
