Tom Clancy’s The Division is coming, and boy does it look like a fun co-op game. It’s not a couch co-op like I would hope, relying on your internet connection to hop in and out of the fray. That said, it’s still a game that looks like its going to demand not only my attention, but require me to have a dedicated crew of gamers to crush this game without mercy.

The story of The Division concentrates on New york City, three weeks after the release of a deadly virus. It’s managed to sweep through the city and as a result, most basic services have failed and the city has been put through a ringer. The president has enacted a secret protocol, Directive 51, and out comes The Division. These guys are the best of the best, a unit of self supporting agents that act independently and without a command structure. These agents are meant to stand up for those who don’t know how, and can be witnessed in this trailer as the driving force protecting this broken city.

maxresdefaultIt’s an open little wonderland for us dear gamers, lets go hunting.

The game itself is an open world concept that will allow you to go through Brooklyn, Manhattan and Queens unfettered. You will explore this world with your friends, and complete missions in a seemingly Destiny type style, rewards waiting for you at the end of the fight, and the A.I. coming to flank you and your friends to the best of its ability. The gameplay trailer released shows us a bit on game dynamics, and how you must constantly be in contact with your team. Each member seemingly having different attributes to help manage the oncoming wave of foes. We don’t know yet the different type of characters that are going to be available to us, Ubisoft is playing there cards close to their chest in that regard. However, I’m sure like all FPS games that we will have a variety of characters at are disposal, but have to pick and choose what kind of character we will be in regards to development. I tend to go long range fighter, who wants to get up close and die after all? Though this is mere speculation currently, but as a gamer I’m more than excited to see how this game develops.

Watch out for The Division folks, and good hunting to ya.
