When I was growing up in Staten Island, NY the second computer that was bought for me was a Commodore 64. For some people getting a personal computer meant you could do your homework or even your taxes. However, the only thing I wanted to know was if I could play games on it. There were so many classics that I have played on an original Commodore 64 I have lost track of them all. Now the folks over at Retro Games Ltd have created a clone called the THEC64 Mini. I had a chance to catch up to the folks over at Retro Games and this is what they told me about their new product.

TR: Please introduce yourself.

PA: My name is Paul Andrews and I am one of the directors of Retro Games Ltd

TR: Tell us a bit about your company.

PA: All of the three directors of Retro Games Ltd have been involved in the games industry for many years, myself and Chris have worked on other consoles together, my team created the C64 game conversions onto the Nintendo Wii system, and Darren bought to market the original DTVC64 console as well.

TR: Tell us about the latest console that you have released the C64.

PA: THEC64 mini console is the first in a planned range of games consoles from our company, the next planned one is the full sized THEC64 of course!

TR: How can you connect this to a display or television?

PA: THEC64 mini plugs direct into your TV using the HDMI connection, so its nice and easy and works with modern TVs!

TR: Are there any games included in the C64?

PA: Yes there are 64 games included with THEC64 mini.

TR: Can you add any additional games?

PA: External files can be accessed using the USB port on the console and via BASIC which is included with the console.

TR: What comes included with the C64?

PA: The console also comes complete with a power cable, a HDMI cable and a joystick as well as a quick start up manual, a fuller manual is also available for download from our site www.thec64.com.

TR: What other licenses do you hold?

PA: We hold multiple other retro game licenses which will be revealed in due course, our initial full attention is on THEC64 range.

TR: Are there any possibilities in making a console based off the Amiga?

PA: Time will tell!

TR: What are some of the other products you have in the works?

PA: We have a wide range of products planned which we will reveal in due course.

TR: Anything else you would like to add?

PA: We would just like to thank all the fans around the world who have supported us in the creation of THEC64 and continue to do so, and we are loving seeing all the feedback of the happy players of the console, so thank you all!

I for one would love to have the chance to play some of the games that I used to play on my big screen TV. Can you imagine playing such classics as Choplifter or even some of the older SSI titles on a screen that big?
