TELETOON at Night Brings Back the Not-So-Super Hero Team

Will Forte, Amy Poehler and Maya Rudolph join the cast for season two
(May 4, 2015 – Toronto, ON) The adventures of the not-so super troop, The Awesomes, continue for a second season starting Thursday, May 14 at 9:30 p.m. ET/PT on TELETOON at Night. New additions to the cast include Amy Poehler as Jaclyn Stone, Will Forte as Malocchio Jr., Maya Rudolph as Lady Malocchio and Kate McKinnon as Lola Gold.
For sixty years The Awesomes have been America’s favorite superteam. When founding hero Mr. Awesome retires and all the strongest members quit the team, his son Prock (Seth Meyers) is left in charge. In season two, Prock, must come to terms with the death of Hotwire while also chasing a new superhero vigilante, Metal Fella. Meanwhile, Dr. Malocchio’s son, Malocchio Jr. (Will Forte), follows in his father’s footsteps and tries to destroy The Awesomes.
The adult animated series made its North American television debut on TELETOON at Night this past September. The Awesomes is executive produced by Seth Meyers, Mike Shoemaker, Broadway Video and Bento Box. To voice the characters, the series assembles an A-list team that includes notable Saturday Night Live cast and alumni Kenan Thompson, Bill Hader, Cecily Strong, Taran Killam, Bobby Moynihan and more. The Awesomes is a Hulu Original series.
