Fast Motion Films to Host Open Auditions for Live-Action Series Adaptation
of Gisèle Lagacé’s Sticky Dilly Buns
March 30, 2025, Toronto, ON – The search is on for a dynamic and diverse cast to bring the beloved Sticky Dilly Buns characters to life! The production is seeking individuals to fill a range of roles, from the flamboyant and charming Dillon to his reserved yet evolving roommate Ruby, along with the eclectic mix of friends, lovers, and industry players who add depth to this character-driven comedy. This will be the first round of open auditions with more to come – full character casting attached.
From the world of Gisèle Lagacé, the acclaimed creator behind Ménage à 3, Eerie Cuties, and Magick Chicks, comes her first live-action comic book adaptation: Sticky Dilly Buns. Bringing Lagacé’s signature wit, humor, and sharp storytelling from page to screen, this marks a milestone moment for indie comics making their way into the realm of television and film.
Fast Motion Films, led by Executive Producer Paul Rapovski & Plato Fountidakis, is hosting open auditions for all characters in the Sticky Dilly Buns universe. Aspiring actors and fans of Lagacé’s work will have the chance to bring these beloved characters to life on Wednesday, April 2, 2025. The auditions will take place from 12 PM to 8 PM at Fast Motion Studios, located at 2 Denison Road West, Toronto, Ontario, M9N 1C1.
Sticky Dilly Buns, one of the standout titles from Lagacé’s Pixie Trix Comix catalogue, follows the life of recent roommates, Ruby and Dillon. Once Ruby, a prudish recent BBA grad, gets an eyeful of (very) flamboyant Dillon’s freewheeling life, it leads the two of them into a bond that’ll turn her life around… and maybe Dillon’s, too! Known for its blend of heartfelt storytelling, comedic timing, and bold character dynamics, the series is set to translate into a compelling live-action adaptation.
“I’m thrilled to see Sticky Dilly Buns take this next leap,” said Lagacé. “This story has resonated with readers for years, and now we’re giving it the chance to evolve into a whole new medium. I can’t wait to see how the right actors bring these characters to life.”
Paul Rapovski, whose production expertise has shaped genre-defining television, is equally excited about the project. “Gisèle has built a universe filled with humor, heart, and characters that truly stick with you. With the right cast, we’re bringing that energy to the screen in a way that fans, both old and new, will love.”
Actors of all experience levels are encouraged to attend the open auditions. Participants should come prepared with a headshot and resume. Sides will be provided on-site for readings.
