As a gamer, I could never really understand sports games to much. I could appreciate the followings they inspired, even admire the level of expertise gamers developed within their certain sport. However, I could never really get into them myself. That disclaimer out of the way, I fully believe you should buy Rocket League. This is a fun couch coop, yes you can play with your friends in the same room, type of game. If that doesn’t sell you on this game, than try this on for size, the players aren’t life like people but rather high speed toy cars.
Take a look out our rides. That’s right folks, to score in this game you must employ a high speed little racer to get the ball into the net. If you think that sounds simple my dear readers, think again. Not only are you fighting to keep possession of the ball from a variety of other players, you must also contend with a degree of acrobatics not offered to most vehicles. That said, the game play is simple and concentrates on driving and mastering the use of your pre equipped booster system.
Does it look like were on the ground anymore boys and girls?
So here’s what you need to know; the cars within the game are equipped with boosters that allow them to do a variety of things. We can not only move at high speeds, but we’re also capable of flip ourselves through the air, and racing up the side of the arena to bank shots towards the goal. In this game, gravity itself isn’t so much your enemy, as oppose to something you choose to discard time and time again in the attempt to try and score your team some goals. With such a unique system in play, players have become really creative with how they manage to score goals, following the link and see how creative some players have gotten.
Even when you think you’ve scored, someone else is out to deny you…. in fashion.
The graphics in this game are beautiful, and often just highlight how some players seem to just out right fly through the air to score goals. I don’t know about you folks, but I‘m itching to master some of the more complex ways of manoeuvring my car. Why? Just to destroy another gamers confidence when they watch it in replay. In conclusion it’s an extremely simple game guys, with no story at all, and a kick ass soundtrack playing while you rip down the field. That said, it’s fun and something you can waste hours playing with your friends. That’s worth its weight in gold.
