It is that time of the year again when the weather is hot, the skies are blue and every fan of comics, games and entertainment converge on San Diego for San Diego Comic Con! The whole event is massive as it spreads over five days and not only takes over the convention center but the surrounding areas as well. This series of articles is going to break up some of the exclusives and events planned for the convention and this section is devoted to the video section of the con! These folks bring the best in home entertainment and I am focusing on four companies and here they are!

First we have Full Moon Entertainment. They are going to celebrate the launch of their comic book division which is Full Moon Comix and will be releasing their first issue of Dollman Kills the Full Moon Universe! They are going to be releasing a cover that has a special “Virgin” cover that can only be purchased at SDCC! And to make things even better on Saturday from 2:00pm-4:30pm Tim “Dollman” Thomerson, Charles Band and Brockton McKinney will be at the booth (which is 4022) signing autographs. But there is more being offered as Full Moon is going to be offering Laserblast merchandise which includes a VHS collection as well as a Laserblast alien glow in the dark toys. Also available is the Parasite VHS collection, Delrium Magazine #17 (which contains a 2 page Dollman vs Gingerweed Man Full Moon Comix Story) as well as Tom Devlin’s 1:1 scale Puppet Master replicas (in VERY limited supply). And to make matters better there will be a lot of surprise merchandise, blu-rays and DVDS so check them out at booth 4022!

Next we have Troma Entertainment and while we know that they are going to have a booth at the convention (4017) however, I have looked at the schedule and there’s no events planned and I have emailed them more than a few weeks ago and sadly have not heard anything from them. So there’s no telling what the folks over at Troma have in store for this year’s SDCC so if you are a fan go ahead and check them out at booth 4017.

Funimation Entertainment is also coming back to San Diego and will be at booth 4135 and they are going to have an exclusive that can only be bought at their booth. Teaming up with Funko! they are going to be offering Dragon Ball Super’s Whis who is accompanied by Beerus, Universe 7’s God of Destruction. If you are a fan of Dragon Ball you need to check this out as these are going to be in limited supply and only offered one per badge on Saturday, July 21st. Also on July 19th from 6:00-7:00 pm in room 29AB there’s going to be a Funimation Industry Panel which they will make all their announcements coming for this coming year.  Also, on Saturday, July 21st from 7:30pm – 8:00pm in room 7AB they are going to be hosting another panel called Funimation Favorites where the staff members take a look at some of their favorites from current anime and classics and will open discussion with the audience.

Shout Factory is going to have a booth as well at this year’s SDCC however, right now what will be offered at the convention is a mystery. One thing they have announced before the con starts is a Night of the Demons collector’s edition which comes with a NECA Angela action figure! This is limited to 2000 copies so if you are a fan of this you can order it now through their webstore. However, they are hosting a panel on Friday July, 20th at 7:00pm-8:00pm and this is Shout! and Scream Factory’s Breaking News which will have Brian Ward, Jeff Nelson and Bill Hunt who will take you behind the scenes of their company. They will have exclusive announcements and sneak peeks from upcoming blu-ray, DVD and theatrical releases.

And there you have it! This is just one of a few articles I am releasing to keep you guys informed about all the great stuff coming out of San Diego, Keep it tuned into Comix Asylum for more news and exclusives!
