Ride with Norman Reedus 201
Negan and Daryl go motorcycle riding in Spain.
Let that sink in for a moment.
Cast aside the fictional world of The Walking Dead and you’re left with two longtime friends and who share a love of motorcycles, good food and European culture.
Season 2 of Ride with Norman Reedus kicks off in Barcelona, Spain. Norman returns to the city he lived in for a year in his younger days to take part in The Walking Dead press tour. While there he hosts his art exhibit, before heading down the coast for three days of fun on the open road.
Norman is joined by Jeffrey Dean Morgan for some breakfast to chat about the insanity of The Walking Dead press tour and their decades long friendship. They soon meet up with some of Norman’s friends and the quartet stroll through La Rambla before hitting a market and sampling some fresh sea urchin. It’s not long before fans of the show recognize Jeffrey and Daryl and mob them for selfies and autographs.
It’s back on the bikes and the four riders hit the streets of Barcelona taking in the rich history and wonderful architecture of this ancient city. One of the highlights is Antoni Gaudi’s iconic church Sagrada Familia, which is an artistic marvel to behold. Then it’s up into the mountains to get an aerial view of the sprawling city.
Next up is the coastal village of Sitges with its beautiful views of the Mediterranean and fond memories for Norman. Ditching the bikes for a while the duo hit the streets in search of Norman’s old apartment. Further down the highway the pair has some fun stretching Jeffrey’s Brixton to its limits. Later on they stop off at a biker bar called La Cantera where they meet the owner and bond with the locals.
Their final stop is in the port city of Valencia. There they meet Alicia Sornosa the first Spanish woman to ride across the world. First up is a tour of the city, led by Alicia, where the trio run into more rabid Walking Dead fans before taking in the Falles festival.
The season premiere of Ride with Norman Reedus is like a love letter to Spain. It’s obvious the country holds a special place in Norman’s heart and being able to see him tour the highways and immerse himself in the culture once again is a treat to not only for fans of The Walking Dead but anyone that loves to travel.
