After a one week hiatus, AMC’s Comic Book Men returned last night with a number one issue of a modern classic, a cool cosplay piece and an unexpected request. First up was a pristine first print copy of The Walking Dead #1 that came into the shop and piqued Walt’s interest. During the negotiation the possibility of an apocalypse actually happening is brought up and Walt decides to turn the basement of the Stash into an apocalypse ready bunker.

A cosplayer enters the Stash looking to unload an unlicensed Dr. Doom mask and talk soon shifts to Doom’s place in the pantheon of Marvel villains. Ming tries on the helmet and elicits laughter from Bryan and Walt before being quizzed on Doom’s history. During the roundtable, Kevin Smith reflects on Dr. Doom and then asks the crew to name their favorite pop culture doctor.

An eccentric collector travels all the way from Florida and approaches Walt with an interesting request. The collector has been looking for Walt at comic book conventions for some time to have him contribute some artwork to a sketchbook. The sketchbook already has drawings by some of the top pros in comics including Neal Adams, J.Scott Campbell, Michael Golden and Bill Sienkiewicz. The catch is that all of the drawings are stick figures!

To prep the basement of the Stash for the impending Stash-pocalypse Walt, Bryan, Mike and Ming head over to a surplus store to get supplies. Water, food and weapons are on their list and Frank from Get Out Safe gives them a tour and an inservice on what they’d need to pick up. The realities of an actual apocalypse become quite sobering particularly when everyone realizes that working toilets won’t be a part of the equation.
