It’s time travel time on Comic Book Men this week as the gang from The Stash journey back to the Wild West, a customer passes by with a collection of Silver Age cowboy comics, and an iconic book from the 80’s makes an unexpected appearance.

The nostalgia runs high for Walt, when some Silver Age cowboy comics are brought into the store. After the merits of comics featuring cowboys are debated (including the line of the night from Walt), Wild West City is brought up. Wild West City was a theme park in New Jersey devoted to cowboys and the Wild West. When it’s revealed to be still open the guys decide to relive Walt’s childhood and become cowboys.

Secret Wars #8 makes its way the The Stash and everyone recalls the impact the issue had on the comic world. Debuting in 1984 and drawn by Mike Zeck, the issue features Spider-Man on the cover in his now iconic black suit. After highlighting the importance of the issue and its lasting impact on the marvel Universe, Kevin Smith then asks everyone to name their favorite Spider-Man artist.

Another customer drops in with a flux capacitor toy from the Back to The Future movies. Talk soon turns to time travel movies and which ones are the best. Back to the Future and The Terminator series of films get some votes, but Kevin goes old school and brings up the classic The Land That Time Forgot while Walt mentions Time After Time.

It’s soon time for a trip to Wild West City and Bryan, Mike, Ming and Walt saunter into town ready to take part in some historic Americana. While at the theme park they meet Cowboy Bob who leads a bullwhip demonstration that leaves Ming speechless. After that the gang takes part in a stagecoach ride that gets a little too authentic before everyone is able to kick back and relax cowboy style.
