bm_annual_cv1The Dark Knight has been thrilling us in various mediums since his inception. From comics and movies to videogames and animated series there are tons of great material for the fans of the Bat to soak up and enjoy. Now DC Comics has unleashed the first Batman Annual but is this a comic that you are going to want to read or should you just re-read your favorite story?

For those that are unfamiliar with an annual it is a special issue that is released yearly. This issue can either have one giant story or a few short ones and this one is a collection of some great short stories. I am not going to go into the stories in detail as discovering them is part of the fun. The first tale is called Good Boy as Batman tries to figure out if a dog that was warped by the Joker can be rehabilitated. In the next story Silent Night, Batman wonders why he is not hearing any signals of distress and finds out why. Harley Quinn also makes an appearance in a tale entitled The Not So Silent Night of the Harley Quinn. The next tale is called Stag which deals with Batman protecting a wealthy philanthropist. The last tale is The Insecurity Diversion where two inmates from Arkham plan their escape.

These great stories are illustrated and written by some of the top talent at DC. I could list everyone but believe me you will find many great stories in this collection. If you are a fan of the Bat then you need to check out this special issue. For more information on this and other comics head over to www.dccomics.com and get ready to stalk the streets of Gotham.
