Into the Badlands 206 Leopard Stalks In Snow

The aftermath of the assault on Quinn’s compound opens Leopard Walks Through Snow. With charred and broken bodies surrounding her Lydia witnesses firsthand the horrors of war and the price that’s paid to those who stand against her estranged husband.

There’s a lot going on in Leopard Walks In Snow and the action bounces quickly through several storylines. There’s the aforementioned Lydia/Quinn showdown, Sunny and Bajie coming across an opium den in a bid to get Porsha medical help and Veil’s dash to freedom with Baby Henry. Combined with the Widow’s continued foray into political deal making and M.K.’s escape from the Abbots, the episode covers a lot of ground by stringing together quick paced scenes.

To say that Quinn and Lydia have a strange relationship is an understatement of epic proportions. That entire family is in need of some serious therapy and one begins to feel even more sympathy for Ryder for being gifted with those two as parents. The poor lad never had a chance and if nothing else the dynamic between Quinn and Lydia proves they may be one same side of a very twisted coin.

Trouble is brewing at casa Widow until Tilda steps in to quash any potential unrest. Odessa, an unhappy regent wants nothing to do with the Widow’s plans to side with Quinn. Tilda, in a reflective moment, shares her reasons for standing by the Widow. She convinces the disgruntled regent to stay and in the process gains a loyal ally in more ways than one.

M.K. finds himself aided by an unlikely ally as the Abbots close in on him. Eva is his jailbreak accomplice and she lets him know that the Abbots have a device that can track his power. The only wrinkle is that M.K.’s lost his ability to go dark and the mystery behind this development may have its roots in what he experienced in the Chamber of Mirrors. The Abbots search for M.K. leads them straight to Sunny and Bajie and the confrontation drops a few hints surrounding the mysterious past of Sunny’s new partner.

Leopard Walks In Snow featured several interesting developments and scenes. The references to the world that existed before the present day Badlands, the Quinn/Widow mediation and Sunny and M.K.’s reunion were a few of the highlights of the entertaining and intriguing episode. While the episode would’ve been excellent without a fight scene the winter wonderland showdown was a visual treat with a couple of surprises thrown in for good measure.
