Preacher Ep 202 – Mumbai Sky Tower

With the reveal last episode that the mysterious cowboy is actually the Saint of Killers its guns a blazin’ for fans of AMC’s Preacher. Starting seconds after the end of On the Road, Mumbai Sky Tower quickly establishes the indestructible nature of Jesse’s antagonist. With a hail of bullets ventilating their hotel, Jesse, Tulip and Cassidy soon discover that Genesis has no effect on their methodical, bloodthirsty pursuer.

Mumbai Sky Tower also sheds some light on Fiore’s whereabouts after last season’s conclusion. Literally at the end of his rope, Fiore finds himself at the titular casino/resort where he reinvents himself as the Amazing Ganesh after a comic mishap with a microphone and a bucket of ice.

The trio eventually track Fiore down and he reveals that The Saint of Killers is on their trail because he hired him to track down Genesis. When Jesse refused to give Genesis back, Fiore took things into his own hands and enlisted the services of The Cowboy to eradicate the entity that resides within the preacher.

The majority of Mumbai Sky Tower focuses on two relationships: Jesse and Tulips’ and Cassidy and Fiore’s. Yes you heard that last pair correctly but I’ll get to that one later. First up are Jesse and Tulip who wile away their time at the resort having sex before Jesse decides to pop the question. They both appear to be heading toward the altar when Gary, a mysterious dude from Tulip’s past shows up at the hotel.

Cassidy and Fiore do some bonding of their own as Cassidy tries to convince the fallen angel to stop the Saint from completing his mission. Two hours of drug fuelled bonding bring the mismatched pair closer together and Fiore agrees to comply with Cassidy’s request.

Mumbai Sky Tower takes a few twists and turns before reaching its surprising conclusion. Not only do viewers get to learn a bit about Fiore and what makes him tick there’s also some unresolved business from Tulip’s past that rears its ugly head. Finally figuring out that God is a jazz buff, the trio decide to head to New Orleans to track him down. That development makes Tulip’s heart sink but to protest would reveal a secret she’s been holding close to her chest. With potential trouble brewing between Tulip and Jesse their search for God may be more difficult than they could ever have imagined.
