New Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 Director Being Considered?

When the news broke that Disney was going to get rid of James Gunn as the director for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 it was met with a backlash of gargantuan proportions. Fans went as far as to say that they would boycott the film and even the cast took Gunn’s side on this. IMHO going back years upon years to find something controversial on someone’s Twitter timeline is just stupid. However, it seems that Disney might have another director that they are considering for this franchise.

And his name is Adam McKay.

If that name sounds familiar to you it should as he has directed mostly comedies and the two he’s famous for are Anchorman and Step Brothers. Now if this doesn’t elicit a bit of concern for the project this might as the date of the release of the film has been pushed back as well. The film was slated for a 2020 release however, Disney stated that the film was going to be released in 2021.

Also James Gunn has not been resting on his laurels either as he is releasing a new horror/superhero movie called Brightburn. He is also being considered for working on some of the DC films as that franchise could use all the help it can get.

My thoughts on this? This is going to be a bad idea for Disney as people want to see the further adventures of the Guardians of the Galaxy. They want to know what happens next and they want to know who are they going to be going up against. Will they go up against Adam the Warlock or has another storyline been picked out for this cast? My advice for Disney is just to hire James Gunn back and let him finish the project because it will not only keep the fans happy but the investors happy as well.

What do you think about these new developments for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3? Are you excited for the film or are you scared due to the direction that it might be going? Let us know! We love hearing from you!
