Mirror’s Edge Becoming A TV Show
Author: S.A.
There’s always a vain hope for video gamers when they finally reach the end of a loveable video game. That hope being, on some level, that the game won’t end. That hope is sometimes answered in the form of a sequel, or a prequel, of their favourite adventure. Which allows them to try and continue the magic of their favourite story just a little while longer.

Sometimes though, that hope is realized in the form of TV/Movie adaption.

That’s right gamers, Mirror’s Edge lovers will get something other than just the Mirror’s Edge prequel, Mirror’s Edge Catalyst. We will also be getting a TV show adaption, brought to us by Endemol Shine Studios. The company has managed to snag the rights to adapt EA’s favorite parkour adventure.

The game itself is set in a dystopian society, wherein which the only unobserved form of communication can be brought to you by a network called “Runners”. These individuals carry messages while evading government surveillance, and often do it in acrobatic style.

The main protagonist, Faith Connors, is one such runner and the heroine of this story. Faith finds herself on a routine delivery when suddenly everything goes to hell, and she finds her sister framed for murder. From this discovery, and subsequent escape from the police, Faith seeks to prove her sisters innocence while being shown the seeder side of the government within the City of Glass.

Hall went on to state that: “We clearly see Mirror’s Edge as a franchise for the global TV audience. It has a strong female protagonist, a wildly rabid fan base and a worldwide brand that Electronic Arts and EA DICE have done an amazing job establishing.”

Personally I will remain tentatively hopeful for the upcoming project, as TV/Movie adaptions have the unfortunate nature of never meeting expectations.
