Spiderman: Far from Home is the last in the Phase 3 series of Marvel films and we want to know what’s coming down the pike from Marvel for years to come. What are some of the new movies that are going to be unleashed onto the silver screen in the coming years? Recently in Hall H at San Diego Comic Con, Marvel answered the fans.
And it was a doozie.
We now have a roadmap of not just films leading to 2021 but Disney+ series as well! Kicking off the Phase 4 series is the solo Black Widow film which is coming out May 1st, 2020. This is going to focus on the titular Black Widow character as she is going up against an iconic Avengers villain and that is TaskMaster. In Fall of that year we are getting the first of many Disney+ series and that is The Falcon and The Winter Soldier. Both Falcon (who recently took up the mantle of Captain America) and the Winter Soldier will be battling the forces of Hydra led by none other than Baron Zemo. The last film to come out in 2020 will be the Eternals and that will drop on November 6th, 2020. This is going to be another team movie and this team is immortal and has been around since the dawn of the MCU (they just have kept to themselves until now).
On February 12, 2021 is the first film of that year and it deals with another iconic Marvel hero and that is Shang-Chi. The film is called Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings which pits the hero up against the real Mandarin. Spring is going to be incredibly busy for the fans of Marvel as we are getting both a Loki and Wanda Vision Disney+ shows. Both of these shows will showcase these characters as we will get a look at Scarlet Witch trying to bring Vision back from the dead. On May 7th, 2021 is the next film entitled Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. This film has been hinted as the first Marvel movie that will delve into the realm of horror as Nightmare is the villain slated for this project. Summer 2021 is for me a reason that I will buy a Disney+ subscription and that is the What If? Show that is coming to this platform. This is going to be an animated show being voiced by the original people who played them in the MCU. In Fall of 2021 we are getting a show based off the Hawkeye character in which Barton is going to be training his replacement. And last but definitely not least coming out on November 5th, 2021 is the next Thor film which is entitled Thor: Love and Thunder. This film is going to be bringing back Jane Foster and she will be wielding the hammer for the first time. I have no idea where they are going with this but this is going to be a great ride.
But that’s not all folks. We also go rumors that a few films that are being shot such as Black Panther 2, Guardians of the Galaxy 3 and Captain Marvel 2. However, we also heard about a Fantastic Four movie as they are looking to do these characters right. There was also mention of a “Mutant” film which shows that they are going to start developing the X-Men franchise as well. However, before they left they shared that Mahershala Ali will be starring in the next MCU film.
As Blade.
This is a shocker as I thought they might bring back Wesley Snipes to do the role however, the MCU hasn’t gotten it wrong as of yet. Also, D23 is going to be happening next month so there’s no telling what updates we are going to get there.
