When I heard that James Gunn had been booted off the latests Guardians of the Galaxy movie I was crushed. I didn’t want to see the characters that I had loved and went on adventures with be directed by someone that didn’t know how to handle them. And over what? Over some things he said a long time ago? This is part of the #cancelculture society that we live in and I for one am growing tired of it. Everyone has said/done bad things in the past and if you do a little digging you’ll find out something unkind that someone has said.
But the good news is that Disney has brought James Gunn back onto the project!
He posted a screenshot on his instagram saying how grateful he was to be working on the project again. However, I think this has been great exposure for Mr. Gunn as he is now back on this project, Brightburn is going to hit theaters soon and it looks amazing and he has been conscripted to work on Suicide Squad for DC.
