When I was growing up back east in Staten Island, NY I had a tradition when I was a kid. I would go ahead and wait til around 2pm on a Saturday Afternoon and watch an old monster movie on Channel 5. They had everything from the giant ants in Them to my favorite, the Godzilla films. I remember all the other monsters he went head to head with and some were memorable and others forgettable. Now the folks over at Warner Brothers at this year’s San Diego Comic Con have sprung a new trailer on us.
And I have to say that it is glorious.
It all starts out with Mille Bobby Brown (from Stranger Things) standing on a rooftop as she sees what looks like an impending storm. She realizes that it is something far worse and retreats back into the building for shelter. We then get narration on how planet earth is sick and its rightful rulers are going to be releasing to set things right.
The Titans.
If not all of these titans are found the planet will become extinct along with the human race and all life as we know it. And the rest of the trailer is shot after beautiful shot of not only Godzilla but some of the other monsters he might have to battle with. It has a really amazing classical music score that I have watched again and again just for that bit of music! We get shots of Gamera, Mothra, Rodan and of course the king himself King Ghidorah! If the film is even half as good as the initial trailer I will be thrilled, as I am already happy we are getting a modern reimagining of King Ghidorah. We will have to wait until May 2019 to see who will become the King of the Monsters.
Have you seen the trailer yet for Godzilla: King of the Monsters? If so what did you think about it? Let us know, as we love to hear what you think about this up and coming Warner Brothers movie!
