September 10, 2024 – GlobalComix, the digital entertainment trailblazer reshaping the landscape of graphic fiction creation, distribution, and consumption on a global scale, today announced a huge expansion to its title library with the launch of GC Vertical Originals, an initiative to translate traditional comic books to the mobile-friendly vertical episode format popular with the next generation of graphic fiction fans, and the addition of legendary comic book publisher Dark Horse Comics’ greatest hits catalog.
Available now, the first wave of GC Vertical Originals is led by Stranger Things, based on the beloved Netflix series. The Stranger Things vertical stories will be presented in both a traditional and a special “Upside Down” scrolling experience. Additional vertical titles debuting today include Marjorie Finnegan: Temporal Criminal and Casual Fling from AWA, The Darkness from Top Cow / Image, Humanoids’ Urban Legendz, TKO’s The Pull, The Banks, and Lonesome Days, Savage Nights, Vault Comics’ Heavy, and Bad Egg’s GODSLAP.
As GlobalComix grows its GC Vertical Originals library, the platform is working closely with publishers to help reimagine some of the biggest and boldest groundbreaking series as mobile-optimized vertical scroll episodes – the comic format that has become a true sensation with the next generation of graphic fiction fans. GlobalComix will debut new vertical scroll adaptations of popular series every week, with top titles from Dark Horse, Vault, AWA, Top Cow, TKO, ABLAZE and more including Dying Insidefrom Vault Comics, Year Zero from AWA, and The Might Barbarians from TopCow set to launch in the coming months.
Through its larger, landmark partnership with Dark Horse, GlobalComix is also bringing a treasure trove of nearly 150 series and 700 books from the publisher’s renowned comic vault to its digital comics platform which is seeing explosive growth. In addition to Stranger Things, fans can access digital comic editions of landmark series from renowned franchises such as The Witcher, Hellboy, and many more.
