When the latest Ghostbusters film was released in 2016 it was released under a midst of uncertainty and outrage. Fans were mad that they were getting a Ghostbusters movie that seemed to be taking more jokes and liberties off of a franchise that they didn’t care about. An example would be if someone did a Star Wars film where they turned it into a comedy and had no respect for the source material. The 2016 film bombed at the box office making less than 225 million dollars worldwide and didn’t even break even for the studio. Now we have a teaser for a new Ghostbusters 3 film and two of the 2016 stars are voicing their outrage on this new film.

Leslie Jones who was the most vocal of the stars on the film said on her twitter feed “So insulting. Like fuck us. We dint count. It’s something like Trump would do. (Trump voice) “Gonna redo ghostbusteeeeeers, better with me, will be huge. Those women ain’t ghostbusteeeeeers” ugs so annyoing. Such a dick move. And I don’t give a fuck I’m saying something!!”

Really? It was already dropped that the premise of the movie is going to follow four kids that are following strange things in their town. It is going to be a mashup of Stranger Things/Ghostbusters and it is going to be a mix of two boys and two girls. Now what? Paul Feig who was the director of the 2016 Ghostbusters tweeted out “An absolute honest to God never ending supply of bullshit and hate from these trolls. Leslie spoke her truth and I support her. I am very open to Jason’s new version of GB but am also sad that out 2016 team may not get to bust again. We all are. We’re forever proud of our movie.”

So you are proud of a movie that while it does have four females as the lead roles of the Ghostbusters has more holes than a slice of swiss cheese? It has lame acting, lame plot, lame villains, lame jokes and also not only enforces the females are strong stereotypes but also enforces the males are dumb stereotype. How about you make a movie that DOESN’T rely on cheap jokes (the wonton thing was REALLY overdone) and have a GREAT story, characters and plot? How about you DON’T attack the fans because they don’t like your movie? I have seen the 2016 Ghostbusters a few times and you know what? The FIRST 30 minutes are AMAZING. I said it. But after that it’s like “Ok! Were done trying to set up shit lets go for cheap laughs.” No. Just. No.

Me personally I would LOVE to see one of the kids from Stranger Things as a Ghostbuster and watch them go on an adventure to save their small town from ghosts. What do you think? Are you willing to give Ghostbusters 3 a chance? What did you think of the 2016 movie? Let us know by commenting below!
