The next installment in the Deus Ex series Deus Ex: Mankind Divided takes place two years after its predecessor Deus Ex: Human Revolution. The story follows protagonist Adam Jensen, an augmented agent who works for an anti-terrorism task force, in a cyberpunk world where humanity is divided into two main factions: augmented (AUGs) and the “Naturals.” The AUGs are humans that have cybernetic augments, from prosthetic body parts to camera eyes and gun arms.
The naturals are humans that have no augments. After the conclusion of Human Revolution the naturals started to fear and alienate the AUGs, some of which, turned to violence for the sake of equality and AUG rights. This led to the appearance of an AUG terrorist group and special anti-AUG police forces and the formation of ghettos (it’s just like Infamous all over again) under the guise of keeping the peace between AUGs and naturals.
Adam Jensen returns with a familiar array of augments (like cloaking and hacking) with the addition of some new ones (like Icarus dash and Icarus strike) and a different (but still badass) trench coat. During missions the player has the option to sneak past everyone or full on firefight.
The game is scheduled for release on February 23 2016.
