Controversy at Blizzard Over New Diablo Immortal Game

I can remember back in the early 2000’s when a friend of mine let me borrow a laptop and I had a chance to play the original Diablo on it. To me this was amazing as you could take the game anywhere you wanted and play to your hearts content. Years later Blizzard would release Diablo III and it was a huge success and just an amazing game. This year at Blizzcon they announced that we would be getting yet another Diablo game called Diablo Immortal.

But there’s a catch.

The game is only going to be available on IOS / Android devices.

So if you wanted to experience the latest chapter in the Diablo saga you are going to have to play it on your phone or tablet. However, there is another reason why this game is only available on those devices. Blizzard had partnered with a mobile company called NetEase and they have two games that are most prominent. The first being Crusaders of Light which looks nothing like the latest Diablo game and in fact looks akin to Warcraft more than anything. The other game is called Endless of God and .. it looks IDENTICAL to Diablo Immortal. So much in fact that people are calling it a reskin of the game! Endless of God has the same views, attacks and character types that can easily be adapted to the Diablo franchise. And the reason that they wouldn’t be able to port it easily to the PC is because it is on the android / IOS and it takes a bit of effort to port it to the PC.
Even at the convention they were asked by a fan if this would be ported to the PC and they had said no which resulted in a chorus of boos. And the presenters just played it off saying “Do you guys not have phones?” But it gets even worse for Blizzard as the video was uploaded and the amount of negativity this video has garnered tons of dislikes. Blizzard has even gone far as deleting dislikes and negative comments that are posted on the page as numerous YouTubers are taking up the mantle on this. One of my favorites named ReviewTechUsa (and you can see the video here) has shown evidence on this happening.

Blizzard is in a freefall trying to spin this into a positive but what do you guys think? Do you think that Diablo Immortal can be a game worth playing just on your phones or should it come out on the PC? Let us know! We love hearing from you!
