BLADE RUNNER 2049 Debuts New Trailer and Images

Warner Bros. has just released a new trailer for Blade Runner 2049, the long awaited and highly anticipated sequel to director Ridley Scott’s 1981 sci-fi classic. The new trailer expands on some of the imagery and scenes teased in the the initial trailer which debuted late last year.

30 years have passed since the events of the first film and the new trailer follows LAPD Officer K (Ryan Gosling) during an investigation fraught with intrigue, danger and echoes of the past. Helmed by acclaimed director, Denis Villeneuve (Arrival) Blade Runner 2049 is loaded with gorgeous imagery and the trailer shows glimpses of replicants, familiar cityscapes and the rest of the cast including Harrison Ford, Jared Leto, Ana De Armas, Robin Wright and Dave Bautista. Produced by Ridley Scott, Blade Runner 2049 promises to be a faithful and satisfying continuation of the sci-fi classic he brought to the big screen 36 years ago.

Here’s a short synopsis of the film:

Thirty years after the events of the first film, a new blade runner, LAPD Officer K (Ryan Gosling), unearths a long-buried secret that has the potential to plunge what’s left of society into chaos.  K’s discovery leads him on a quest to find Rick Deckard (Harrison Ford), a former LAPD blade runner who has been missing for 30 years.

Blade Runner 2049 hits theaters Friday, October 6, 2017.
