The next Telltale Game will be sliding on through our screens sooner than we anticipated. This is especially surprising given that the company just recently released it’s newest gaming piece for the walking dead series in the form of Michonnes story. However they have decided to slate their newest game, Batman, for an August released date.
That’s right guys, we’re going to be making decisions that affect all of Gotham during the summer, so be prepared.
As per normal Telltale gaming style, each decision you make as Batman will have ramifications for all the denizens of Gotham. That said, you will also have to make decisions as the everyday man that is Bruce Wayne. This is likely done in an effort to make us as gamers understand the hard decisions that the rich ‘playboy’ must make to protect his city.
An interesting tibit of news is that the game itself will not be tied to an existing comic book universe. This will allow for Telltale to make not only a unique story in regards to the rise of Gotham cities finest hero, but also allow players to explore the world without a pre-determined destination in mind due to movie plots or comic book exposure. The developers are even going so far as to make it so that our decisions might make previously determined ‘good’ characters ultimately our enemy due to our interactions.
That said, trust no body.
The game itself is suppose to look something like The Wolf Among Us. The title was a previous game by Telltale that was a masterpiece in it’s own right and a pleasure to play through. The only thing to truly hope for in terms of this upcoming title is in truth a resouding success in terms of story line, because Telltale tends to deliver on everything else.
