Zoe Kravitz is heading to Gotham City now that it’s been announced that she will be taking the role of Catwoman in The Batman starring Robert Pattinson as Bruce Wayne/The Dark Knight. Kravitz joins Pattinson and Jonah Hill in the upcoming flick set to be directed by Matt Reeves (Cloverfield, War for the Planet of the Apes) which will dial back the clock a little to focus on a younger Bruce Wayne.

Kravitz’ turn as Selina Kyle harkens back to the 60’s TV iteration of the character when Catwoman was portrayed by Ertha Kitt opposite Adam West’s caped crusader. Kravitz is no stranger to the world of superheroes with roles in X-Men: First Class (2011) and Spider-Man: Enter the Spider-Verse (2018). Ironically, Kravitz’ move to DC’s cinematic heroes makes it a family affair as her step-father is none other than the King of Atlantis himself, Jason Momoa.

The Batman is slated to hit theaters in 2021 and in the words of the late, great Ertha Kitt the casting of Kravitz is simply “purr-fect”.
