This weekend kicks off the biggest show dedicated to all things gaming and that’s E3. The second company to have an event was on Saturday and that was with the powerhouse known as EA. However, there were some problems as the schedule was laid out in chunks and there were no surprise games announced.
This conference was about three hours long and only covering mostly games that have already been released. From updates on The Sims 4 and Apex Legends they discussed new content and other new features coming to these games. Also announced was FIFA and Madden 2020 however, unless you love the series you couldn’t care less. There were only two highlights as we had gotten at least a good look at the next game in the Star Wars universe. Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order is going to be taking place after the events of Episode III – Revenge of the Sith. You will play as Padawan Cal Kestis as you are one of the last surviving Jedi. The game looks incredible as it looks very cinematic and you will see TIE Fighters sweeping overhead and lush jungles to start out. The other big announcement was for Battlefield V and that is they are working on an expansion based on the Pacific theater. Yes folks, you will be going back to Iwo Jima as there are going to be a bunch of new units available to help you take back those islands from Japanese control.
The problem I had with this show was its hosts. It made it unwatchable as I had to click out around 10 minutes into the broadcast. A good host can make a great conference amazing however, a bad one can ruin it and this was ruined for us. Also there was not even a mention of Anthem as this game has been on the decline for months. So is Anthem going to become vaporware within a few months? Right now there’s no word but things are not looking good for this franchise.
Did you watch the EA E3 conference? Do you think they nailed it or was it a giant flop? Let us know and keep it here for more news out of E3 2019!
