In 2016 I was extremely anxious to see Deadpool in the theaters as we had been burned once before. We were burned with a movie called Wolverine: Origins which did feature Wade Wilson and we all remember the horror show that devolved into. However, once the movie started I was relieved as it was true to form and honored the comic character which we know and love. Ryan Reynolds gave an outstanding performance and I thought to myself ‘There is NO way that they are going to top this movie. It’s not possible!’
I was wrong.
Deadpool 2 is an amazing piece of cinema and I am going to try not to spoil anything by just giving the basics outlined in the trailer. Deadpool has been called out to an emergency as a kid is acting out at a place for mutants. He talks the kid down however, someone from the future is sent back to kill this kid. His name is Cable (played by Josh Brolin) and he will stop at nothing to complete his mission. During the movie Deadpool assembles a team of badasses named X-Force who are going to try to get the kid back and protect him from Cable. What happens in the movie is just a bunch of chaotic action and some great one liners where the movie pokes fun at itself.
Also, there is an after credits scene and it is not one to be missed. To me this not only made the movie but made it unforgettable! You will not want to miss it. I will not tell you what happens but it is simply amazing.
One minor plot point I will sacrifice is that Negasonic Teenage Warhead now has a girlfriend by the name of Yukio. This pink haired, bubbly mutant will make you fall in love with her as she has powers as well and she is featured in the trailer with an electrified whip. I was loving this and I do want to see what adventures this cute couple will go on next and who knows? There might be a movie franchise in store for these two in the near future!
I do know I am being very vague with this review and I am sorry for that because I don’t want to ruin it for anyone who wants to see this film. If you loved the first Deadpool then you will love this one as well as it has tons of action and comedy that you would expect from this movie. The question is however, will there be a third one? Only time will tell! But I will say that it will be hard pressed to beat this one as it has a great cast, a wonderful story and some intense action that you will not forget.
Did you see Deadpool 2 yet? If so what did you think about it? Did you think it was better or worse than the first one? Let us know! We love hearing from you!
