Goliath is Simply Breathtaking

I can remember back to my childhood when I had a lot of my favorite storybooks based off classic tales and original stories. Some of the best stories were told in this format with limited dialogue and rich illustrations. Now the folks over at FPG have made a book for all ages called Goliath but is this a journey that you will want to take part in?

The story is set in prehistoric times where life is hard, especially for family of the Ty clan. These people face hardships on a daily basis as they are always in danger. However, all is not lost as they hear of a land where they can live out the remainder of their days in peace. The Ty clan sets out on a quest in order to find this land but every step of the way is filled with peril and danger. But even through this difficult time they believe in the stories of the ancients and the spirits that have protected them. Are these guardians just tales in order to give people the hope that they need to survive or is there more to the story?

This large format book is 11.5” x 11.5” and features 88 pages of illustrations, each as a double page spread. The illustrations are simply breathtaking. The wonderfully talented Mike Ploog lends his artistic inspiration to the book giving us some amazing illustrations that seem to sprawl over the two pages. The amount of detail that is on every page is simply breathtaking and needs to be experienced in person rather than on a computer screen. The concept and dialogue is provided to us by Michael Friedlander and gives us some interesting prose in order to keep the story moving forward. And believe me when I tell you this is an entertaining tale that everyone can enjoy whether they are 8 or 80.

Goliath is currently for sale on FPG’s website and you can purchase it at https://www.fpguniverse.com/shop/ where you can also find information about this and other projects that they are coming out with. Until next time folks listen to the tales of your ancestors because you never know what truth might lie behind those tall tales.
