It’s not often that one gets an opportunity to delve into the inner workings of a creative mind, particularly one as fantastic as celebrated filmmaker Guillermo del Toro’s. Well thanks to del Toro and the Art Gallery of Ontario fans of the horror master will get to see various items from del Toro’s home studio Bleak House in the exhibit, Guillermo del Toro: At Home With Monsters.

The exhibit features original artwork from Mike Mignola and Bernie Wrightson, props from films such as Pan’s Labrynth, Crimson PeakHellboy, and even pieces of artwork owned by the AGO.

For comic book lovers one of the highlights is the comic book room which features two walls full of comics. Titles range from Eternals, Star Trek, Creepy Magazine, Swamp Thing, and Twisted Tales.

To kick off the exhibition del Toro will be on hand for a book signing September 27 at the AGO and the gallery will be screening the director’s films from October 11 to November 24

Guillermo del Toro: At Home With Monsters opens September 30 at the AGO and runs until January 7, 2018.
