With Suicide Squad set to hit theatres later this week DC Entertainment and Warner Bros. are pulling out all the stops. Wednesday marks the debut of the Rebirth one-shot of Suicide Squad as well as an all-new comic featuring fan-favorite Harley Quinn. Hot on the heels of Suicide Squad’s August 5th cinematic debut, DC will release Suicide Squad Most Wanted: El Diablo and Boomerang (August 8) and to cap off the madness the one-shot Suicide Squad: War Crimes Special #1 will hit shelves on August 31.
Suicide Squad: War Crimes Special #1 marks the return of writer John Ostrander to the pages of Task Force X for the first time in a decade to “tell one of his boldest and bloodiest stories ever.”
Also released today is Jim Lee’s cover to Suicide Squad #1 which is slated to be released on August 17th. Suicide Squad: Rebirth #1 written by Rob Williams with art by Jonathan Glapion and Phillip Tan will also feature a variant cover by Amanda Connor. Harley Quinn #1 written by Jimmy Palmiotti and Amanda Connor will feature art by Amanda Connor and a Bill Sienkiewicz variant cover. Both titles will hit shelves next Wednesday, August 3rd. Suicide Squad Most Wanted: El Diablo and Boomerang #1 will shelves the week after on Wednesday, August 10th.
