Smite Coming To The PS4
Author: S.A.
So for all of us loyal Sony console lovers who have gotten use to only playing real MOBA (Multiplayer Online Battle Arena) games on our computers, or at the local internet cafe, the world is changing. That’s right, our first true MOBA is making its way to the PS4, and Smite is definitely a must grab. The game, which was previously an Xbox exclusive, has been announced for the PS4 in the immediate future.
This is huge news for PS4 fans, as to date they don’t truly have any games worth mentioning that fit the MOBA bill besides perhaps Hell Divers. While the game itself will go through a short beta testing period, the full game is expected to make its way to the console post haste. Any interested players can sign up for said beta on the Smite website.
For those of you unaware on this old fan favourite, Smite itself is not a traditional MOBA game. Instead of offering the most commonly used top down view in terms of gameplay, much like League of Legends or Dota, it instead employs a third person view. The game also has an astounding amount of players at this point in time, boasting a number of up to 14 million. It also features a roster of over 70 unique characters to master, and generates quite an intense type of game play for those of you willing to adjust to its system.
The best selling feature of Smite though remains in the fact that it is, and shall always remain, free. If that’s not a selling feature for a game, I don’t know what is. Especially in a world where subscription costs are both tedious and annoying. That said, I think we should all give the game a try, if only to enjoy its fun game play.
