Nintendo Coming To The Big Screen
Author: S.A.
So for those of us who grew up watching the horrible movie adaption of Nintendo’s hit game Mario, we’re in for potentially good news.
Nintendo is dipping its foot into the movie world once more.
Hopefully to better success.
That’s right, Nintendo is deciding that it’s time to step into big budget filming, much like Marvel. The gaming titan is going to be bringing us or our favourite gaming heroes to the big screen and hopefully bring our child hood to life.
Nintendo CEO and president Tatsumi Kimishima revealed that the company is planning on introducing movies based on more than a few of our favourite heroes. The company is currently in discussion with a variety of movie companies for potential partners.
Now all that’s left is the choosing.
Nintendo does plan to be fully involved in the future projects, Kimishima himself stated that:“We want to do as much as we can by ourselves,”. While Kimishima refrained from mentioning which heroes will be actually brought to big screen. He does give us an off hand statement that the ones that do appear will be “popular with everyone. I can’t say, ‘It’ll be Mario’ – just that we’ll do things that people will be familiar with.”
Deep down I’m rooting for a Link movie.
In even better news, there is no need to worry about another live action flop much like Super Mario Bros. Kimishima has stated that Nintendo will not be doing live action films, and will be sticking with 3D animation or anime as their bread and butter.
So what movies are you hoping for guys?
