PlayStation 4 Upgrade?

There has been a plethora of rumours about the possibility of an upgrade to the PS4, which have since been corroborated by gaming sites such as Kotaku and Eurogamer. However, while the upgrade may be real, what we get with it is up in the air. It has to be especially note worthy for gamers to switch systems this soon after a console drop.
Rumours site that their are three pathways through which this ‘upgrade’ could go through for the PS4.5. The first of which would be a system with a massive power upgrade, sporting two times the graphical powers of a CPU and would be priced at $399. The second option would be just minor improvements to the graphics engine, as well as older and newer gamers. The third is a slim option which would sport 4k capabilities console wide. All in all, only option one seems truly enticing.
Even than, not so much.
Sony isn’t the only company looking at upgrade capabilities. Phil Spencer, the man in charge of Xbox for Microsoft, has discussed similar possibilities. However, instead of fully replacing the system it would be merely a hardware update to keep in line with technological advances. Which in truth I think is pretty cool.
How Microsoft will go about doing as such remains to be seen.
