Dark Souls 3, Get it Early Xbox Fans
Author: S.A.
Region releases are the ban of a gamers life. To know that somewhere out there, another gamer is playing a game that you love but won’t have for another few weeks due to the country you live in continues to plague my soul. That said, Dark Souls 3 has dropped out into the market in Japan and won’t be released until April 12 for us North American counter parts.
Devastating right?
Well for Xbox users who are just as eager as myself to get a hold of a game as soon as possible, there might be a way for you to snap up your version earlier if you are willing to put in just a little bit of work.
All you have to do is buy the Japanese version of the game, than switch it to English.
Hold on though, wait, finish the article.
The way this works has been tested by various people and seems to garner universal success, so follow the selected steps and you should be playing Dark Souls 3 right this second.
Instructions:
1. Make a dummy account, set the region to japan
2. Buy Xbox credit (yen) from Microsoft store (set region to Japan, search for yen cards on the site)
3. Buy the game, enter a Japanese address
4. Set your Xbox region to Us or Uk
5. Download the game
For those of you worried that Xbox will notice you funking around with their system, here’s what the company had to say in regards to the subject.
“Although Xbox One games are not region locked, which means there are no technical limitations that would prevent them from being used in any country, Microsoft does not condone importing Xbox One games outside of official launch markets.”
To anyone incapable of understanding their legal mambo jombo, Microsoft doesn’t approve but in truth won’t do anything about your sneaky grab at the Dark Souls game.
So go get it guys.
