Xbox Exclusive Titles
Author: S.A.
I’m sure it’s the wish of many rival companies that their biggest competitors won’t be able to keep up with them during the New Year. That the competition will fall behind, and for a lack of a better term, vanish. I’m sure Sony wishes that Microsoft would just go quietly into the good night. However, Microsoft seems unwilling to give up the good fight just yet and has announced a selection of gaming goodies for the New Year.
Some of which I’m still on the fence about.
The selection varies, featuring some old fan favorites being brought back such as Gears of War 4. It also has a few large RPG selections, such as the new game ReCore, to entertain those of us who we’re never good at the first person shooter life style. The full list of games coming to us during the 2016 year is as follows:
- Gears of War 4 (Xbox One) – Multiplayer Beta in Spring 2016/Launch in Fall 2016
- Quantum Break (Xbox One) – April 5, 2016
- Halo Wars 2 (Xbox One & Windows 10) – Fall 2016
- Crackdown 3 (Xbox One) – Multiplayer in Summer 2016
- Fable Legends Open Beta (Xbox One & Windows 10) – Spring 2016
- ReCore (Xbox One & Windows 10) – 2016
- Sea of Thieves (Xbox One & Windows 10) – 2016
- Gigantic (Xbox One & Windows 10) – 2016
- Killer Instinct: Season 3 (Xbox One & Windows 10) – March 2016
- Gears of War: Ultimate Edition (Windows 10) – Spring 2016
- Ori and the Blind Forest: Definitive Edition (Xbox One & Windows 10) – Spring 2016
- Cobalt (Xbox One, Xbox 360 & Steam) – Feb. 2, 2016
Despite what seems to be numerous releases coming up for Microsoft, none of their titles beyond Gears of War seems to have any ‘wow’ factor for this gamer folks. That isn’t to say ReCore and Sea of Thieves don’t look like they have potential, in fact they both seem to be games that many people will likely enjoy and I advise readers to keep their eyes peeled for the upcoming titles. That said, I don’t believe the Xbox’s current line up is enough to entice those on the fence about buying their unit down from their impassivity. Their current list seems to consist past successes being brought up again in the form of sequels, or games that seem rather bland in nature. The current Microsoft, in my own humble gaming opinion, needs to find some fire in them to combat Sony.
That, or be destined to lose the battlefield that has become the gaming world.
