PlayStation VR Technology in immediate future.
Author: S.A.

As children, gamers in their youth could only dream of a world where they could feel fully submersed in their favourite childhood games. After all, how amazing would it be to take on the roll of characters like Cloud Strife from the Final Fantasy series, wielding the buster sword with ease. If not a sword wielding hero, how bout a Pokemon master from Kanto. You can see from a first person point of view what it is to throw out your Pokemon, and witness their fierce fight. In truth, the possibilities are endless once the technology has been perfected.

Did I mention we’re getting close?

PlayStation-VRPlaystations New VR Accessory

The PlayStation VR, which until recently was codenamed Project Morpheus, is one of the new waves in the virtual reality world. In what must be a bid to be one of the first players on the scene, PlayStation is slotted to release this device in the first half of the 2016 year. It’s design allows for it to be fully functional with both the Playstation Vita and the PS4, so you’re getting double the bargain for just one device.

We don’t know all the facts yet, but we do know that Sony is working hard at making the game as companion based as possible. They don’t want you experiencing this new technological development alone, despite the fact that the device itself can only be used by a single person.

project_morpheus_-_ps_moveHe’s gearing up for a fight, but doesn’t realize Four Vs One is horrible odds.

For example, Japan studio has created a game called Monster Escape. This game is a five player game, and set up to be one versus four. This allows for one person to wear the VR helmet and become the Monster of the game. From there we have four people using regular DualShock controllers and a TV in an attempt to survive the monstrosity. There was also talk of a bomb defusal game, where in which the person wearing the VR helmet can see the bomb in front of them. Whereas the person without it can see instructions on how to defuse it on the normal screen. They must work in conjunction to get the job done and save the day. If made, it would prove to be one heck of a social experience.

In anycase, the gaming market is slowly expanding ever more. How far we can take the VR world solely depends on the market demand, and how well companies like Sony try to meet it. I for one am itching to give this type of gaming a try.
