As 2017 draws to a close most people are setting their sights on the 2018 movie season and there’s one thing that I know for sure.
2018 is going to be an awesome movie season!
Without further ado here are some of the films that we are excited for in the upcoming year:
Avengers Infinity War: 2018 is going to be the year for Marvel movies not only are we getting a Black Panther movie as well as an Ant Man and the Wasp but we are finally getting the kickoff to the Infinity War! To those living under a rock the Infinity War has Thanos coming to earth trying to collect all of the infinity stones in his gauntlet. The Avengers as well as a few other familiar faces will try to stop him.. but at what cost?

Ready Player One: I have never read the book and seeing the trailer for this movie makes me want to! Ready Player One takes place in a future where the Oasis (a virtual reality world) is the only place that people go to anymore. When the creator dies and offers a huge cash reward (not to mention control of the Oasis) it is a mad dash to find all the clues and get the easter egg hidden somewhere in the world. Expect to see tons of cameos from some great pop culture icons!
Wreck It Ralph 2: One of the most unexpected hits that Disney made had to be Wreck It Ralph in which a bad guy tries to become good and in doing so saves video game land. The sequel is going to unleash Wreck It Ralph on an unsuspecting internet. What is going to happen is anyone’s guess as there will be a few puns and jokes along the way.
Incredibles 2: A Pixar sequel that has been years in the making, Incredibles 2 seems to pick up where the first one left off. This sequel is going to deal with not only fighting the forces of evil but also raising three kids as well! And it doesn’t help that each of these kids has superpowers (including the baby!)
Deadpool 2: Yes! All we know about this sequel is that the “merc with a mouth” is making a comeback to the silver screen. This time he is dragging along not only Cable but Domino as well! This has the potential to be better than the original but only time will tell (as for me I cannot wait to see it as long as it’s filled with as much crass humor as the original).
Rampage: Someone thought it would be a great idea to make a movie based on the video game Rampage. At first I was skeptical however, I have seen the trailer and I am excited for this movie! The monsters look amazing as we are going to see a giant wolf, gorilla and crocodile lay waste to cities across the United States.
Predator: The reason I am excited for this film is that it is lead by someone known as Shane Black. Now if that name sounds familiar (and it should) because he played in the original Predator as Hawkins! Details are VERY sketchy at this point but all we know is that if it is done right it will be a great film in the Predator library.
Han Solo: This is going to be a prequel to the Star Wars films and will show how Han Solo got his start before joining the rebellion. Solo is going to be played by Alden Ehrenreich and he was in such great films as Beautiful Creatures, Stoker and of course Hail, Caesar! We may even see some early interactions with Lando as to how he won the Falcon in a card game.
Alita: Battle Angel Alita was one of the manga and anime that I devoured when I was a kid. When I heard that a live action movie was coming out I was VERY skeptical until I saw it. I think it is going to be even more amazing than the live action Ghost in the Shell movie. And with Christoph Waltz playing the iconic role of Dr. Dyson Ido this is going to be a great movie!
Venom: When fans saw the iconic villain in Spiderman 3 everyone groaned as the performance was horrible and it ruined an already terrible movie. Now Venom is slated for a 2018 release and Eddie Brock is going to be played by Tom Hardy (of Mad Max Fury Road fame). Hopefully this will be better and I hope we can see Tom Holland go up against this villain in black.
